National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is This Saturday October 21, 2013 OC Public Health Update National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, OC public health care agency, Prescription drug abuse, Prescription Drugs 0 It's Time to Get Rid of Expired, Unused and Unwanted Medications The next National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. It is sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in an effort to help prevent prescription drug abuse and diversion. The majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet. This service is free and anonymous - encourage your patients to dispose of their unwanted medications on Saturday, October 26th.
